About Me

Hi there, and welcome! I'm Julia Fox, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) licensed in both Minnesota and Oregon, with over 13 years of experience in the mental health field.

My path to becoming a therapist was perhaps a bit unconventional. Before entering psychotherapy, I studied Anthropology and Cultural Studies—a background that sparked a lifelong fascination with people, relationships, identity, and the many ways we make meaning in our lives. I began my clinical work in a DBT clinic, where I spent four years helping clients build skills in emotion regulation, mindfulness, and navigating life's many ups and downs. Along the way, I've led mindfulness groups, become a Registered Yoga Teacher, and taught yoga in an eating disorder treatment setting, experiences that deepened my appreciation for the connection between mind and body.

These days, my practice is broad, affirming, and rooted in curiosity. I believe healing happens in spaces where people feel seen, affirmed, and safe to be fully themselves. Therapy with me is collaborative and interactive—I ask questions, offer gentle challenges, and value authenticity over perfection. No topic is off limits in our work together; I believe all parts of being human deserve compassion, curiosity, and a place to be explored without shame.

Outside of the therapy room, you'll usually find me adventuring with my two beloved dogs, Fergus and Ro, tending to my garden, dreaming up DIY projects, climbing mountains, or frolicking through forests. I deeply believe in embracing our inner nerds and finding joy in the things that make us feel most alive. Whether that's fantasy novels, nature, relationships, or discovering more of who you are, I consider it a privilege to walk alongside people as they create lives that feel authentic, connected, and meaningful.
